So I was tagged by Violeteli to do the 'get to know me' tag, which I was thankful for today because its been a heavy revision and essay day so it was nice to do this for a break! Also I like reading tags I think its nice to get to know the people behind the blogs.

1. I don't like ice cream
2. I used to study law at uni but withdrew and reapplied to do criminology.
3. I have strawberry blonde hair which I used to hate but i'm beginning to like it now.
4. I love winter clothes.
5. I'm a very anxious person.
6. I love getting up early and don't really like lying in (i'm aware that's weird! haha)
7. I've developed a slight obsession with Lush products of late.
8. I'm a grade 8 clarinetist.
9. My favourite animals are elephants, but I also find dolphins fascinating.
10. I get way too excited if it snows.
11. I hate people that spit in the street...just why?!

1.Who is your favourite band/singer? This is really hard because I love music, but i'd say my most listened to are Bon Iver, Joni Mitchell, Mumford & Sons and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

2. What's the one place in the entire world you want to visit? I'm really lucky to have already visited this place and its New York City, it's absolutely my favourite place and I'd just love to go back sometime.

3. Favourite lipstick colour? To be honest i'm not really a lipstick person, I find them quite drying, but if i do wear lipstick its usually quite sheer and natural looking. At the moment i'd say its Crystal by Topshop.

4. Favourite T.V show? The West Wing...it's an oldie now but I love it, the writing is brilliant, the acting is fantastic, funny and serious, just all round amazing show.

5. What season do you like best? Winter...I love it. I love cold frosty mornings, I really like when it gets dark early and Christmas is my favourite holiday.

6. Did/do you enjoy school? In a word no. I hated high school it was probably the worst years of my life. However i'm at university now and I love it.

7. Which do you like more, sunrise or sunset? Sunrise, i'm a morning person I think.

8. If you could work anywhere where would it be? Oh there's so many things i'd love to do, but at the moment i'd love to work as a criminal intelligence analyst, maybe at GCHQ.

9. Do you have a favourite colour? I think my all time favourite is duck egg blue.

10. What movies do you love to watch over and over? Howl's Moving Castle, The Darjeeling Limited, Bridget Jones's Diary and Moulin Rouge

11. Dogs or Cats? I like both but I have a cat so i'll say cat.

1. If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would you be? I think I would chose to be at my boyfriend's house because I miss him while i'm away at uni.

2. Heels or Flats? flats in the day definitely, heels for a night out.

3. How did you come up with your blog name/url? Rae is my nickname, Little Green is a reference to a Joni Mitchell song my dad used to sing to me, and I was very nearly named Green after it.

4. What is your eye colour? Blue

5. Do you have a favourite food? Sushi for sure, I just love it.

6. What is your favourite perfume or spray? At the moment Daisy by Marc Jacobs

7. Where would you like to be in five years? I would like to have a good job and hopefully have bought my first house, just the standard things I suppose.

8. Do you have any hobbies other than blogging? Playing the clarinet, listening to music...erm is shopping a hobby?

9. Do you play any sports? Not at the moment but I do Tae Kwon Do when I'm not swamped by uni work.

10. What beauty or skincare product could you not live without? I couldn't live without a good moisturiser and probably foundation.

11. What is your all time pet peeve? People who chew with their mouths open...no one need to see that or hear that!

Little shopping trip...

So for some reason I thought I was working today, went in for 8am turns out I wasn't...cue awkwardness...anyway because I was already out I decided to go and do a bit of early morning shopping as I got paid a couple of days ago. I picked up a few bits, no make-up items today thought I should restrain myself!

Anyway I've been wanting a skater style dress for a while, because they look nice and are flattering to pretty much all body shapes, which is good as dresses aren't something I always like wearing. So i'd seen a plain black one in Topshop a while ago but it was £15 and I thought that was a tad over-priced. I'm glad I didn't get it because today in H&M I found this one which was only £7.99!

Not the best photo but its just plain black and the back drops slightly lower which is quite nice (not so low as to reveal bra though so that's a plus!). So I'm happy with that.

I also got this belt from Accessorize, mostly because I love teal, i'm not entirely sure about the star cutouts but I can live with them. It was £8, but I like Accessorize belts because their sizes tend to be better for me than other shops.

These are by far my favourite purchase of the day, little owl stud earrings from River Island for £1.50! I thought that was a pretty good deal, I believe River Island are now doing a £5 and under jewellery range, I saw some of it today in store and a lot of it is actually really nice. I was pretty impressed because a lot of their normal range is quite expensive for what it is. Well I think so anyway.

I think they are quite cute, they're kind of a bronze colour with pale blue in the eye and they aren't massive either which I like, because I don't really like big studs on myself.

The last thing is a pair of shoe boots from New Look but I got these over the Easter break. They were £19.99 but I got student discount so I paid £17.99 for them which isn't bad for a pair of shoes, they're faux suade I think (don't hold me too that!). But they are really comfortable surprisingly, I'm not great with high heels for more than a couple of hours but I definitely think I could wear these for an evening and not want to take them off half way through.

They're just plain black but up the back there's a zip which I think looks quite nice, a bit different from a zip up the inside. So that's my little shopping spree, the rest of the day has just been spent revising, but its not going too badly thankfully! Hope everyone is having a good day.

Lily Lolo and EOS

Hello, I hope everyone is well. I'm taking a quick break away from revising police sub-culture (surrounded by post-its and highlighters!) to do a post on a couple of recent additions to my collection. After trying a mineral foundation last week but it unfortunately not matching my skin tone I decided to try and different brand and colour because I loved the feel of the product on my skin and liked the coverage it gave. I ordered Lily Lolo's Mineral Foundation in Porcelain from Cutecosmetics, after Rachel from Cutecosmetics recommended it to me as a better match for my skin. It arrived today (yay) and I'm a very happy bunny.

I like the packaging of this, it's simple and the sifter is great to avoid having loads of excess product on your brush, however you can remove it if you don't like it. It's also a good size you get 10g of product in a 40ml tub so its not too huge to be carrying around. The product itself has no harsh chemical or parabens and has a natural spf, which is great if you have pale skin like me. It's also suitable for vegetarians and vegans! So thats a great start, but the best part is it matches my skin perfectly!! I'm so happy because it is a very fine line for me and foundation of any kind but this is probably the best i've ever found. It's a good coverage and doesn't look powdery on my skin, which is good because I prefer a natural looking foundation for everyday. It retails for £12.49 which is great value I think, considering the price of other mineral foundations on the market. So i'd definitely recommend this product to anyone who like me struggles to find foundations light enough!

The second thing is the EOS Lip Balm sphere in Strawberry Sorbet, I ordered this last week again from Cutecosmetics (which is definitely becoming one of my favourite sites!) and i've been using it everyday since!

I love the packaging, its just so different from anything else! It's tactile and makes applying the balm so easy. Love the colours of the cases as well, each flavour has a different colour which is cute. It smells amazing, pretty much like a sweet shop, which I love because I definitely have a sweet tooth! It has shea butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E and these combined leave your lips feeling so smooth and it lasts for ages unlike other lip balms that seem to disappear after a few minutes. My lips feel really hydrated after using this. This product has been raved about on many blogs and sites so I was a bit dubious that it wouldn't live up to the hype but it definitely does and i'm glad I got it. It retails for £5.95, which is more than i'd normally spend on a lip balm but it was worth it, for the cute packaging and mainly because the product itself is great.

So just a couple of recommendations and definitely check out Cutecosmetics for some great products. Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm off to get back to revision! Roll on summer is all I can say!

Handy Gurugu...a must for cold weather

I recently purchased Lush's Handy Gurugu hand cream, as this weather was doing nothing for my hands, going from the freezing cold into heated university buildings was causing havoc to my skin particularly on my knuckles (is it ever going to stop raining? That's what I want to know!). I'd seen a few reviews on Handy Gurugu which said it was great for dry skin so I thought i'd give it a go.

It's not much to look at let's be honest but are any hand creams? It does have a slight greenish tinge but that doesn't bother me, although it might some. The smell is hard to pin down, it reminds me of the Lush stores themselves, it definitely has that signature scent, but its light and smells fresh. The most prominant smell is rose water, at least that's what I can pick out. It is described as a very butter rich cream and they aren't joking its got shea butter, organic peanut butter, organic almond butter, organic cashew butter and organic pumpkinseed butter in it! Along with other essential oils. As it says on the tub a little goes a long, you definitely don't need much of this. It does feel quite sticky when you first rub it in, which did put me off slightly when I first used it, however do persevere because it does soak in and it leaves your skin feeling very soft and nourished and it has done my hands a world of good, the skin feels less tight and feels much softer. The key is definitely not to use too much, its definitely made with very very dry skin in mind and I feel its definitely more of a winter product and would be great if you suffer from cracked knuckles in cold weather. It retails for £7.25 for 100g, which yes is quite pricey. Lush is not the cheapest on the market there's no getting away from that, but it will last a long time and the shea butter in this product comes from a women's co-operative, The Ojoba Project in Ghana so I don't begrudge paying the money for it.

If you are looking for something a little less intense then i'd recommend Soap and Glory's Hand Food, I carry a little tube of it in my bag at all times. It smells amazing and is non-greasy, it soaks in so fast and leaves your hands feeling incredibly soft. The mini 50ml tube is £2.50 and is in my opinion the perfect size to just carry around with you, at work, school, uni anywhere.

So that's my little review, i'd say go for Handy Gurugu if you suffer with extremely dry, cracked skin and need something to sort it out and fast because it is incredibly good for that, but if you don't have such an issue then Hand Food is a good everyday hand cream that's not too heavy.

Philip B...I take it all back!

So in my recent GlossyBox post, I said that I didn't think this Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Baume would be useful for me, and thought it would just make my hair sticky and greasy (after a horrific experience with some John Frieda Serum :s). However I used it yesterday and today after washing my hair and i'm pleasantly surprised. Now I didn't put any of it near my roots mostly because I needed to go out yesterday and didn't want to look like a Slick Rick! I used the product on about the last three inches of my hair (just as a side note, I have quite long hair) and then blowdried it and oh my gosh it made my hair so soft! I felt so lovely after having taken a battering in this horrendous weather we've been having it was so nice to have it feeling soft and smooth at the ends again. I wouldn't use it on my roots as I think my hair gets too greasy on top and this product definitely does create a sleek look to your hair. It's also paraben free which is good and as far as I can tell its unscented which is great because it doesn't mask your shampoo smell which is a pet peeve of mine about hair products!  Another good point is that a little goes a long way with this so if you were to buy the full size product which is £17 then I think you'd be getting value for money. Personally I wouldn't buy the full size as I think despite it being a nice product its not something my hair desperately needs but if you do struggle with dry or frizz prone hair I'd definitely recommend it!
